LG Will Sponsor Extreme Sports Games
ASA and LG Sign 5 Year Contract

A major electronics company in Korea hopes
their new international extreme sports
series will eventually become the "Olympics of extreme sports".
On Friday, April 9, 2004 LG Electronics (LGE) of Korea
signed a multiple year sponsorship contract
with the Aggressive Skaters Association (ASA) to support ASA's
international events as a major sponsor over the next 5 years.
Those events will include inline skating, skateboarding,
BMX, and motocross and the final International
"LG Action Sports Championships" will take place
every year in September. 200 top athletes from
21 countries are expected to participate in that event.
and LGE hopes their event will eventually grow into the
Olympics for extreme sports. The games will be
broadcast by EXPN and Fox Sports.
LGE has hosted the first LG Action
Sports Championship event in Los Angeles last
November. That was a multi-sport
championship event included the
ASA Inline Skating World Championships.
Starting in 2004, LGE will host
and it will host the preliminary and
intercontinental extreme sports events in various countries
starting off with a first event that will take place
in China.
In addition to hosting those international
games, the company plans to establish
their own LGE Pro Tour Team.
