LG Will Sponsor Extreme Sports Games
ASA and LG Sign 5 Year Contract

A major electronics company in Korea hopes their new international extreme sports series will eventually become the "Olympics of extreme sports".

On Friday, April 9, 2004 LG Electronics (LGE) of Korea signed a multiple year sponsorship contract with the Aggressive Skaters Association (ASA) to support ASA's LGASC Logo international events as a major sponsor over the next 5 years.

Those events will include inline skating, skateboarding, BMX, and motocross and the final International "LG Action Sports Championships" will take place every year in September. 200 top athletes from 21 countries are expected to participate in that event. and LGE hopes their event will eventually grow into the Olympics for extreme sports. The games will be broadcast by EXPN and Fox Sports.

LGE Action Sports Championships LGE has hosted the first LG Action Sports Championship event in Los Angeles last November. That was a multi-sport championship event included the ASA Inline Skating World Championships. Starting in 2004, LGE will host and it will host the preliminary and intercontinental extreme sports events in various countries starting off with a first event that will take place in China.

In addition to hosting those international games, the company plans to establish their own LGE Pro Tour Team.
