Amateur Competition on day 1 of the Mobile Skatepark
Series event in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The first day of the Mobile
Skatepark Series event underway now at Cincinnati's Sawyer Point
Park was marked by stiff amateur inline skating competition in
both street and vert. The amateurs were vying for year-end
rankings and their shot at the ASA Amateur World Championships.
Amateur Street Preliminaries
Local favorite Aaron Pyle from Middletown, Ohio focused on smoothness
and consistency to finish the preliminary round in thirteenth
place overall and advance to the finals. Other amateur inline
street finalists include:

Amateur inline street finals begin Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
Amateur Vert Finals
Steven Aleil from Paris, France topped the amateur
inline vert field, picking up where he left off with
a successful 2003 season. The victory earns Aleil an
appearance later this year at the Amateur World Championships.
Jesse Diana of Brick, NJ and Bryant Castens of Columbus,
New Jersey earned silver and bronze medals respectively, also
earning berths to the Amateur World Championships.
Mikey "Lightning" Benedetto of Belvedere, New Jersey rounded
out the field with a fourth place finish.
The Mobile Skatepark Series resumes Saturday morning
with pro and amateur practice at 10:00 a.m. For more
