What Camera Do You Use at Indoor Events?
What kind of camera do you use at indoor low-light skating events at indoor sports arenas or roller skating rinks? One thing I discovered at the 2004 Artistic World Championships: Indoor sports photography is a whole different ballgame then outdoor sports photography and getting good results in low-light conditions when you cannot use a flash is quite tricky. To protect your favorite user name from being used by one of our other chat room visitors, you can re-register that name or select a new one now. [How to Register a Chat Room User Name]

What Your First Speed Skates Will Feel Like
"If at all possible, try on a pair of speed skates before you buy them. Even though people say it's a big change, it still doesn't sound that bad until you put them on. They hurt, they take an immense amount of ankle strength, and they feel like water skis compared to regular skates..." [Read More In Our Forum]

You Might Be An Obliviot If...
You've got your headphones on so loud, a cannon shot over your left shoulder wouldn't penetrate your eardrum.
You think an underpass after a downhill blind curve is the right place for you and your friends to sit down on the trail.
You're a plank pusher and when a skater calls out "passing on the left" you decide this is the perfect moment to do a triple flippy root-the-toot fakey grind... [Read More In Our Forum]

Skater Wants to Build Custom Quads
"I want to build some custom quad roller skates using freestyle skateboarding trucks. Those trucks have hangers 85-110 mm wide and they come in two versions, with either 45 or 30 degree angles. Roller skates usually have 45 degrees trucks, but I read somewhere that is an old idea, and modern roller skate trucks should be 30 degrees. Anybody have any advice?" [Read More In Our Forum]

The Beef Between Skateboarders and Inliners
FROM AN ARTICLE WRITTEN BY A SKATEBOARDER AT BE-MAG.COM: "Aggressive inline is a very young activity compared to other cultures like surfing, skateboarding and BMX. But inline skating does have some roots if you look at its godfather the roller skate. The history, culture and tradition of roller skating were the foundations for inline skating. It was only in the past decade that aggressive inline took more of its culture from skateboarding than from pre-90's roller skating..." [Read More in Our Forum]
