A May 2005 update with news and general information about skating in Bangladesh, provide by Mr. Quazi Ahmed Najee, the General Secretary of the Bangladesh Roller Skating Federation. About the Bangladesh Roller Skating Federation The Bangladesh Roller Skating Federation is affiliated with the Bangladesh National Sports Council under the Ministry of Sports and Youth,Government of Bangladesh. The federation is itself consists of a 21 member Executive Body. Of these members, 20 are directly elected and the President is nominated by the Government. The organization was formed in 1995, and the present executive body was elected in the year 2001. Its first elected General Secretary was Mr. Quazi Ahmed Najee. Skating Disciplines in Bangladesh The Bangladesh Roller Skating Federation is at the moment concentrating on only one disipline Speed Skating, but in the near future they are going to expand to Skating Hockey subject to the availability of financial support. The Federation would appreciate and welcome any assistance and exchange of ideas and suggestions for the development of skating between countries. The Federation is planning to have a Web site up soon where more information will be available about skating in Bangladesh.
