2003 Canadian Inline Cup
A New Racing Series for Canadian Skaters
|
In 2003, the first annual
"Canada Inline Cup" racing series
will debut, and it will include events
in both Canada and the United States.
Skaters in Canada have organized this racing
series in order to increase the visibility of
inline speed skating in Canda and to help
promote the sport in general.
Who Can Participate?
Inline skaters of all abilities from across Canada
and around the world are invited to participate in
the inaugural Canada Inline Cup 2003 Season. This
event will bring inline skaters together in a
spirit of competition, fair play and dedication
to our sport.
Description of Races
All races in the Canada Inline Cup are outdoor
road races. Most are marathons (42 km), however,
races range in length from 10 km to 136 km.
Canadian races as well as select races in the
USA in which Canadian skaters regularly
participate are included.
Points Will Be Awarded
Points will be awarded
in two categories: male and female. There are no
sub-categories for age group or elite skaters.
Both position and time will be rewarded. Position
points will be given to the first 22 skaters
registered in the Canada Inline Cup. Time points
will be given based on the fastest Canada Inline
Cup skater’s time in the race.
After every race, updated Canada Inline Cup
standings will be published on the Web site of the
Ottawa Urban Inline Skating Club
website and forwarded by email to all registered
participants.
Award Categories
There are two levels of
winners/prize money recipients:
Overall top five male and female skaters.
One Eastern and one Western Canadian winner in
both the male and female category.
Award Categories
The Canada Inline Cup is organized by a committee
of inline skaters from the Ottawa Urban Inline
Skating Club (OUISC) in collaboration with the
major inline skating clubs across Canada. The
committee is responsible for managing the
registration of participants, collection and
dissemination of results and upholding the rules
and procedures governing the Canada Inline
Cup. It will also function as arbiter of any
disputes. For more information, please e-mail
