FIRST ANNUAL 24 HOURS INLINE MONTREAL
July 10-11, 2004
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Skaters! What would you say to a 24-hour team relay race?!
Well, it's coming down the pike, so get ready...
What Is It?
On July 10-11, Roller-Montreal, Bougex.com and the City of
Montreal will host the First Annual 24 Hours Inline Montreal
(Les 24 Heures Roller Montréal), a team relay race for skaters.
Modeled on the historic 24-hour races at du Mans, France,
and held like them on a Formula-1 racetrack, this will be a
first for North America!
Where Is It?
Montreal's famous Gilles-Villeneuve racetrack is located
on a island park in the St. Lawrence River, minutes from
the heart of the city yet a world away. Pedestrian-free
and with perfect asphalt, the track is one of our favorite
places to skate. For the 24-Hour Relay, teams will be using
the same paddocks as the auto-constructors during F-1 races.
Rain or shine, we will have shelter!
How Much Will It Cost?
What will it cost to participate? $350 CDN per team.
Teams can include up to 10 skaters, making this one of
the least expensive races on the continent.
Where can you find out more? We'll have a website ready soon,
with detailed information and online registration. Skaters who
would like to be on our mailing list for immediate updates should
contact me, Rod Willmot, at
Spread the Word
In the meantime, spread the word! We're expecting teams from
around the continent and even Europe. Put this on your calendar,
and start pulling together your relay team!
