IV Pan-American Speed Skating Cup

The Skating Federation of Colombia is pleased to invite the speed skating clubs of the American continent, who are affiliated with the Pan-American Roller Sports Federation, to participate in the IV Pan-American Cup of Speed Skating Clubs, to be held March 21 through 24, 2003 in the City of Yopal in the Republic of Colombia. The event is being organized by:
Schedule: Track Events: March 21-23, 2003 Marathon: March 24, 2003 Technical Meeting: Friday, March 21 at 8:00 a.m. at the "Caney del Soldado en la Brigada" in Yopal. Awards: Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the first three finishers in each event. Scoring: 3 points for each gold medal 2 points for each silver medal 1 point for each bronze medal. Claims and Disputes: All claims and disputes will be arbitrated according to the regulations of the International Roller Sports Federation (FIRS). Track: All track events will take place at the Yopal Municipal Speed Skating Track (Municipal Patinódromo of Yopal), which is 200 meters long by 6 meters wide, with a surface of smooth, polished cement. Marathon The marathon for all categories of skaters will take place on a 3 kilometer circuit through the city of Yopal, on Avenida Ciudad de Nunchía, which has excellent asphalt for skating. Judges Judges will be selected by the Pan-American Roller Sports Federation. Safety The Pan-American Roller Sports Federation and the Skating Federation of Colombia cannot take responsibility by accidents and injuries that might occur during the event, therefore each athlete must provide their own medical insurance for the event. Protective Gear Hand protection is required for this event, and full knee, wrist, and elbow protection is required for Infantile Category B. First Aid: Paramedics, an ambulance, fire fighters, and representatives from the Red Cross will be on hand at all events.
