7 Days of Speed Skating in Spain
August 10-16, 2003 in Barcelona, Spain

The August 2003 "Barcelona 7 Days" roller speed skating event
has been cancelled for 2003, due to circumstances beyond
the organizer's control, but this exciting new week-long
speed skating event is expected to make it's debut in 2004.

The first edition of the international event of
roller speed skating "BARCELONA 7 DAYS" is now being
organised, and it will take place at the
roller skating track of Lliçá d’amunt in Barcelona,
from 10 to 16 August 2003.
Types of Races
"Barcelona 7days" will be ruled according to the present
valid regulation of the Spanish Roller Speed Skating Federation.
Events will include inline, races of punctuation, races of elimination
and races of punctuation-elimination (combined).
Age Categories
Age 6-7 and 8-9 (born between 1994 and 1996)
Age 10 and 11 (born between 1993 and 1992)
Age 12 and 13 (born between 1991 and 1990)
Juveniles: Age 14-15 (born between 1989 and 1988)
Juniors: Age 16-17 (born between 1987 and 1986)
Seniors: Age 18+ (born in 1985 and before)
Who Can Participate?
All skaters must
be guaranteed by their club or federation to represent
their countries.
Each skating club can register an unlimited number
of skaters depending on the age, however, only
three of their skaters can take part at the same race,
according to the International Roller Speed Skating
Regulation.

Registration Fee
The registration fee is 10 Euros ($10 USD) for each skater.
Registrations must be received by the event
organizers on or before July, 20, 2003.
Payment must be made on or before August 10, which is
the first day of the event.
Eliminations for Large Events
If any event has a large number of skaters
there will be elimination races to determine
which skaters will participate in the final
and main race.
Skaters will be selected
by referee judges depending on their classification
in semi-final and final eliminatory races.
Prizes
The three individual winners will be awarded with medals by
each competition in every age range.
The three final winners will be awarded with medals.
The team winner of the Barcelona 7days event will be awarded
with a trofy and it will be the team who has reached the most
points during the 7 days.
The skater who obtains the best punctuation until the seventh
day of competition will be the winner of the race.
PERSISTENCE PRIZE:
This prize will be for the skater who shows the best performance
and competition-ship during the event.
BAD LUCK/HAZARD PRIZE
This prize will be for the skater who had a misfortune,
either physical or mechanical. Both prizes can be awarded
daily in case the jury decides so. However, the jury has
the right not to hand over the prize if they decide so.

The official prize list could be eventually be
supplemented with other prizes that the organization
obtains through their event sponsors.
Protests:
Protests must be filed in writing, on each club’s
letterhead. Protests must be sent to the APPEAL COMMITTEE,
and protests must be accompanied by
300 Euros ($300 USD).
The APPEAL COMMITTEE will consist of one judge, one
representative of
the Catalonian Skating Federation and one
of the event organizers.
Accidents and Injuries
The event’s organization is not responsible for accidents
either physical integrity of skaters, before, during and
after the races. However, there will be an ambulance or
another king of medical attendance.
Omissive cases in this Regulation will be solved by the
Committee as a respected institution.
