The Course
The fantastic Hungaroring F-1 track is between 8 and 12 meters wide
(26.3 to 39.4 feet), and its surface is extraordinarily smooth, because
F-1 standards only allow a maximum roughness of
1 mm over a 1 meter distance (0.04 inch over a 39.4 inch distance).
Skaters will be required to exercise their best technical skills,
because the course has many of the curves that are typical of
F-1 tracks.
The race will take place clockwise, and the course profile is as follows:
-
Starts on a hill
-
Crosses a little valley
-
Climbs up an opposite hill
-
Crosses the valley again
-
Arrives again on the first hill

The Race
This is
expected to be a well-organized race because it is
being planned with the assistance of the Hungarian Formula One race
organizers and the top infrastructure of the Hungaroring Race Track.
There
will be races for all levels of skaters, from fitness skaters
to the top elite and professional skaters in the world.
Races will include a traditional marathon, relay
races, and team races.
Also under consideration is a special race, where the
average fitness skater can skate laps along with the best professional skaters.
Normally, the average skater does not get to see the top skaters race,
and they never see what a world-class race is like on the front line. Because
this track is very wide, the organizers believe it should be possible and safe
to arrange an event that would include everyone from the average fitness skater to
the top skaters in the world.
At
the Hungaroring F-1 Inline Festival, amateur skaters will be able to decide for themselves, which category they want to skate in.
But skaters need to be aware that being over-ambitious, and skating in a category that is too high, will not pay off in this race.
Any skater who is overlapped will be disqualified! (Note that a lap
on this track is nearly 4 kilimeters.)
The organizers believe this is the best and easiest way to categorize
the skaters. They believe it will result in the most fair
and realistic conditions during the race, with none of the chaotic
conditions and situations that can sometimes occur when skaters are
inappropriately categorized.

The Festival
The Hungaroring has a Formula 1 race track, but it also
has a smaller F-3000 track, and this is where the family fun festival
will be held. There will be races and many other activities, like
parties, beauty contests, presentations, and other
special events for the enjoyment of all the guests.
In addition
to the events directly associated with the Hungaroring Inline
Festival,
there will be sightseeing tours, shopping trips, and many other
activities
organized by the
Hungarian Tourist Office.
So start planning now, to bring your family to Hungary in May of 2001
for the Hungaroring Inline Festival, a trip to the beautiful
City of Budapest, and an
opportunity to meet skaters and many other interesting people from all over the world.
