Jeju Island (also called Cheju Island)
is located off the South Coast of Korea, and it is a
favorite holiday and honeymoon destination for Asian travelers.
The island has a special beauty
that is similar to the Hawaiian Islands in many ways.
The island's scenic beauty and opportunities for
outdoor activities are starting to attract adventure
travelers from all over the world.
Some of the most popular activities are
cycling, inline skating, scuba diving,
hiking, and kayaking.
About Skating on Jeju Island
Jeju Island is good for skating year round, with a
relatively hot summer, warm spring and autumn,
and a short mild winter. During the warmer months
skaters like to skate along the seaside, stopping
at different beaches for a swim.
During the different seasons,
skaters can enjoy different landscapes along
the very same route.
From November thorugh February you can skate
through tangerine orchards and in the springtime
skaters will see a blaze of colorful flowers everywere.
Summer and Autumn are perfect for skating along the
shore and relaxing, swimming, snorkling, and diving on
the beach.
Skating Events
Special skating events are held on Jeju Island
such as the International Skating Marathon, held in March of 2002.
There is a new skating track on the island, so you can
expect to see more formal competitions on Jeju in the future.
