The Ulricehamn Rail Trail in Sweden
There is a paved rail trail in ? Sweden that runs between Åsarp and Ulricehamn,
a distance of about 30 kilometers. There is also another 65 miles of paved
trails that can be accessed from Ulricehamn.

Cycling is the perfect way to experience Borås
A brochure, called Borås 3 x 3, contains details of three cycle paths, each of them 30 kilometres long, explaining a little of the history and other interesting facts about the places and buildings you pass. You can order the brochure from Borås Tourist Office (only available in Swedish).
Disused railway lines
Now it’s possible to bike all the way from central Borås to Ulricehamn, a distance of some 70 kilometres of tarmac paths along disused railway lines. Stop off at your route to pick up some bargains in our many local shops and enjoy the delightful countryside too.

Cycle paths
Mark has a number of cycle paths ranging in length from 20-45 km. You will pass 19th century estates, breathtaking views, great bathing spots and lots more. You can buy maps with route descriptions from Mark Tourist Office, costing SEK 20 each.

Enjoy the district by bike
Discover the natural beauty and cultural traditions of this district with our cycling package. After breakfast, bike off to the village of Äskhult, a genuine 19th century village whose roots go back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Tuck into your picnic lunch when you arrive at the village of Äskhult. When you return to the youth hostel, you can make your dinner and enjoy both your meal and the view from our huge terrace overlooking lake Lygnern. After a good night’s sleep and breakfast, you bike to ‘Fjärås bräcka’, an outdoor museum from bygone days that commands a marvellous view across lake Lygnern to the east and the Kattegatt to the west. You can eat your packed lunch at the museum, after which, if you wish, you can hire a canoe. On your journey back to the youth hostel, stop off at the Gäddevik nature reserve for a refreshing dip.

SVENLJUNGA
Cycling tours
Svenljunga offers a varied range of cycling tours. You will cycle past ancient burial sites as well as inviting bathing lakes. The Västgöta path and Sverige path both pass through the area. For more information about bicycle rental and for descriptions of the paths, contact the tourist office.

TRANEMO
Cycle paths - Disused railway lines
Tranemo is in Vilda Västergötland, on the border to Småland. You can enjoy discovering the area on your own, or cycle along disused railway lines, part of Sweden’s heritage. Contact the tourist office for more information about where to hire bicycles, etc.

Ambjörnarp Café and Inn
Go along the railway tracks on a trolley cycle from the carefully preserved station area in Ambjörnarp. Take a break on the way through the countryside to Sjötofta, in an organised rest area with barbecues and even bathing if you like. Ambjörnarp Café & Inn can also pack a picnic basket if you wish. After 15 kilometres, you can visit Sweden’s most expensive lavatory.

Cycle paths – Disused railway lines
The beautiful landscape in Sjuhärad is a great place for bicycle touring. Either bring your own bikes to the municipality of Ulricehamn or book a cycling package, then head off on two wheels from our lovely town. There is an extensive network of cycle paths with the majority of them taking you along disused railway lines through beautiful, natural scenery where you’ll find abundant places to rest and absorb the wonderful atmosphere. In the region, there are now some 70 kilometres of tarmac paths along disused railway lines. Stop off to do some shopping in the local towns and enjoy the delightful countryside too.
