Wermlands Fun Roll and Race Where to Skate in Sweden

The 2004 Wermlands Inlinelopp Fun Roll and Race will take place in Karlstad, Sweden on June 19, 2004.

Wermlands Inlinenelopp in Sweden
The Wermlands Inlinelopp is a 30 kilometer fun roll and racing event that takes place everty year in Karlstad, Sweden. Karlstad is located half way between the cities of Stockholm and Oslo, on the northern shore of Sweden's Lake Vänern. The event was held for the first time in 2002 and the third annual event will take place on June 19, 2004.

The Route
The route is on a beautiful and scenic 30 kilometer multi-use trail that runs along the lake and through forests and cornfields. The trail was built on an abandoned railroad line that connects the towns of Karlstadt and Deje. The trail is an easy skate because it has new asphalt and it is very flat with no hills.

    Who is Invited
Skaters from every country and with all levels of ability are welcome to join this event. In Sweden this is considered a recreational race but many of the most advanced professional skaters participate also. Among the skaters at the start line you will see the top racers in Sweden right next to hundreds of average recreational skaters.

    A Dream of the Organizers
The organizers of this event are hoping there will one day be asphalt on the entire rail trail, all the way up to Hagfors, which would make the Wermlands Trail (and their event) more than 70 kilometers long.
