2003 Long Beach Inline Marathon (Announcement)

Meet me at the the Long Beach Marathon Vendor Expo on Friday or Saturday and pick up a few of my brand new (free) SkateLog.com magnets. You will find me at the Bont Skates of Australia display, sharing a booth with Bont USA representative Glenn Koshi.

The 2003 Long Beach Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 12 in Long Beach, Southern California USA. In 2003 the event will include marathons for skaters, runners, and cyclists. For more information, visit the official event Web site at RunLongBeach.com

A Preview of the Race Route
On Sunday, October 6 a group of people skated the 2003 Long Beach Marathon route early in the morning, so they will know what to expect on race day. Here is their report:

Registration
Online registration is closed, and there is no race day registration, but it is still possible to participate in the race by registering at the Long Beach Marathon Vendor Expo:

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10 (12 noon to 7 pm)

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11 (9 am to 6 pm)
IMPORTANT NOTE: ALL skaters will need to pick up their race packet at the vendor expo, even if they have pre-registered.

The Long Beach

Marathon Vendor Expo will be at the Long Beach Convention Center on Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11. I will be there all day, both days so I can meet all of the skaters when they stop by to pick up their race packets. You will find me at the Bont booth sharing a booth with Glenn Koshi of Bont North America. Be sure to stop and say hello (and pick up one of my free magnets) when you pick up your race packet. The vendor expo is being held at the Long Beach Convention Center, very near the marathon start line.

Meet Me on Race Day
On Sunday, October 12, I will be taking photos at the start line, at the finish line, and at the celebration and awards ceremony following the race.

Where is Long Beach?
If you are flying in, you will arrive at the Los Angeles International Airport or the small local Long Beach Airport. The Los Angeles airport is north of Long Beach, and it is usually about a 40 minute drive.
