Downtown Los Angeles Thursday Night Skate

Twice a month, skaters in Los Angeles California gather for a group skate through the streets of Downtown Los Angeles. The skate is organized by Ronda Flanzbaum and Ted Hayes, and it is accompanied by music carried by Dan Benveniste, one of the organizers of the Santa Monica Friday Night Skate.

The Los Angeles Thursday Night Skaters meet at the Dome Village Homeless Shelter between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. every other Thursday night.

Directions to the Dome Village:

To find the Dome Village go to the corner of Garland and 8th Streets. It is west of 110 Freeway & Figueroa, between Golden & Garland and 8th & James Wood (a.k.a. 9th). It is 2 blocks south of Wilshire, 2 blocks north of Olympic and east of Union.

From west or south of downtown LA: Take the 10 East towards downtown L.A. to the 110 N towards Pasadena. You will be seeing the Convention Center/Staples Center to the right of the freeway. Exit on 9th Street. Left immediately as you exit on Francisco. Left on 8th. Travel west, go under freeway. You will see the Holiday Inn on the right and Dome Village will be to the left. Make 1st legal left turn on Witmer. One block, turn left on James Wood Street (9th). Travel 2 short blocks, turn left on to Golden Avenue and park in the cul-de-sac. Come in the gate to the Dome Village.

From north of downtown LA you can: Take the 110 Freeway South. Exit on 8th/9th Streets. Travel west off freeway on to 8th Street. Left on Witmer. Left on James Woods (9th) Street Left on Golden Avenue. Park in the cul-de-sac. Come in the gate to the Dome Village.
