Hotels in Venice Beach California

If you must have a luxurious room or you prefer a very conventional hotel, Venice Beach is not the place for you, and there are many such hotels in the nearby communities of Santa Monica and Marina del Rey. But if you want to totally immerse yourself in the Venice Beach experience, you should consider booking a room at one of the Venice Beach hotels listed on this page.

Hotels Very Near Venice Beach

All of these hotels are very close to the beach and most of these hotels are located right in the center of Venice Beach, close to all the shops, cafes, and street performers.

The only exceptions are the Venice Beach House and the Inn at Venice Beach, which are located on the south end of Venice, close to the Washington Boulevard Pier and Marina del Rey. There are some lively and interesting cafes, pubs, and shops in this area, so it can also be a pleasant place to stay, and it is only a short walk from there to the main hub of Venice Beach activity on Ocean Front Walk.

Historic Bed and Breakfast
Venice Beach House (30th and Speedway)

Apartments with a Kitchen
Venice Beach Suites (1305 Ocean Front Walk)
Venice Suites (417 Ocean Front Walk)

Medium Price Tourist Hotels
Cadillac Hotel (8 Dudley Avenue)
Inn at Venice Beach (327 Washington Blvd)
Marina Pacifica Hotel (1697 Pacific Avenue)

Low Price Hotels
Venice Beach Cotel (25 Windward Avenue)
Venice Beach Hostel (1515 Pacific Avenue)

All of the hotels in Venice Beach, California that are listed in the above section are within half a block of the beach and none of them are outrageously expensive. Private rooms are available from $35 to $250 USD per night, and even the most expensive establishments have rooms available for $100 to $130 most of the time. Shared rooms are available at the Venice Beach Hostel and the Venice Beach Cotel for as little as $10 to $15 per night. You can also rent apartments by the week starting at $500 or by the month for about $1500 and up.

Hotels Slightly Away from Venice Beach

Two hotels a little farther (a 5 or 10 minute skate) from the beach, but still in Venice, that are worth considering are the medium priced Holiday Inn Express (with hot tub) and the lower priced - at least the last time I checked - Jolly Roger Hotel (with swimming pool and hot tub). Both of these are on Washington Boulevard, inland from the beach. Another low cost option away from the beach in Venice is the Hostel California on busy Lincoln Boulevard.
