Venice Beach Skaters Roller Dancing in a Line

In the summer of 2000 the buildings and facilities surrounding the original Venice Beach skate dance circle and cone skating area were demolished so the entire area between Ocean Front Walk and Venice Beach could be renovated and re-landscaped. The structures destroyed included the building known locally as "the pavilion" and the picnic area known as the "grafitti pit". While those renovations were taking place, the Venice Beach Skate Dance Circle moved temporarily to a long, narrow, isolated beach parking lot on the Southern edge of Santa Monica. These photos were taken in that area.
