The Cannon Valley Bicycle Trail is a 20 mile paved trail built
along the banks of the Cannon River, in the bed of the former
Chicago Great Western Railroad line. which connects the cities
of Cannon Falls, Welch, and Red Wing in southerneastern
Minnesota in the United
States.
The 20 mile Cannon Valley Trail was dedicated in May of 1986,
3 years after the railroad line it replaces was formally
abandoned. It is used by cyclists, inline skaters, hikers,
and cross country skiers. The trail follows the Cannon
River and it winds through forests, meadows, farmland,
and marshy areas. NOTE: Adults over age 18 must have a
trail pass in their possesion while they are using the trail.
