South Carolina. They ranged in age from 33 to 73 and traveled from all over - Hawaii, Colorado, New York City, Chicago, Oklahoma, New Jersey, Florida and British Columbia. Some came with a spouse and others arrived not knowing a soul. How, and more importantly, why did they wind up at skate camp?

For some, the flame of possibility was ignited by an article in Shape magazine written by a previous skate "camper". One person heard about camp from a friend. Others discovered Learn-to-Skate Camps on the Internet. But despite their differences in age, previous experience and backgrounds (four accountants, an audiologist, a physician, an engineer, a developer, an administrative assistant and two attorneys, among others) they all had the same goal: "I want to know how to skate!"
