order offset the stress of such intensive learning. On Day 2, some campers visited South Beach for a quick sea kayaking session. As Sehba relaxed in her kayak, watching the dolphins frolicking in the distant waves, she quipped, "You know - this doesn’t suck". Meanwhile, Liz was teaching a "Yoga for Skaters" class, which provided air-conditioned relief for everyone who spent the day in the hot sun. Marian wowed everybody with her flexibility as a first time yoga participant. Day 3 found most of the group together on a Dolphin and Nature Cruise up Broad Creek. A few were even brave enough to try the fresh "sliders" (oysters) that Captain Sonny had harvested.

Everyone had a different idea of what they wanted to do
"Before I came to camp, I was disappointed to see that there wasn't more skating time on the schedule. However, it didn't take long to see that I couldn't skate as long as I thought I'd be able to, so the mix [of activities] was just great for me."

in their spare time on Day 4. A couple chose to bike on the miles of hard-packed beach, some just hung out and walked along the beach famous for its natural beauty, a few had appointments for massages ("I am really looking forward to this", said Hollis, who had skated the farthest of anyone in the group the day before), some sunned themselves by the villas’ outdoor pool. Others wisely used this time to nap, or otherwise chill - a necessity since the normally humid weather was unseasonably warm for the full 5 days. On one particularly hot day, Iris and Barb sacrificed a trail skate to enjoy a shopping excursion in Harbour Town.

"Don’t expect to lose weight on this vacation," wisecracked instructor Kris on the first day of camp. She wasn’t kidding. Campers had the chance to dine together at some of the best restaurants on the island each night and, appropriately, seafood was a very popular menu choice. But it was Jenny's Ristorante Italiano that seemed to be the camp favorite and won rave reviews not only for its food, but also for its atmosphere and staff. They treated their Zephyr guests like royalty while the happy campers shared the day's triumphs, bonded over beverages, and swapped tasty desserts.
