2003 South Africa Speed Skating Championships

SUBJECT: Invitation to the 5th International Inline Speed Skating Championships in Pretoria South Africa, February 5-9, 2003


Roller Sport South Africa hereby invites you to participate in the 5th International South Africa Inline Speed Skating Championships in Pretoria South Africa February 5-9, 2003.

Roller Sports South Africa has hosted four very successful International Inline Speed Skating Championships in South Africa. Due to the success and popularity of this championship we have decided to host another event in 2003.

Categories of Skaters

The sections for the championship are:
  1. Junior Men (13 to 17 years as at 1st January)
  2. Senior Men
  3. Open Ladies (Junior and Senior combined)

Distances to be Skated

Track:
  1. Open Ladies: 300m TT, 500m, 1000m and 5000m
  2. Junior Men: 300m TT, 500m, 1000m and 10000m
  3. Senior Men: 300m TT, 500m, 1000m and 10000m
    (Junior and Senior men’s sections may be combined
    depending on the number of entries.)

Road:
  1. Open Ladies: 300m Sprint race and 10km or 21km
  2. Junior and Senior Men: 300m Sprint race and Open Marathon

More About the Event

Awards
Gold silver and bronze medals will be presented to the first 3 skaters in each distance. An additional prize will be presented to the 3 overall winners i.e. Open Lady, Junior Man and Senior Man.

Rules
The CIC Official Regulations and FIRS Rules will be followed.

Registration Fee (includes hotels and meals)
The fee for skaters and supporters is R1200 (approximately 120 US$/EURO) per person this includes shared accommodation for 5 nights, meals from dinner on the 5th to breakfast on the 10th February, airport transfers and transport between the hotel and track. Single room supplement an additional R500 (50 US$). If a skater is traveling alone we can organize a shared room with another skater.

Sun City 4 Night Holiday (Optional)
An optional trip to the very famous Sun City Resort will be organized from 10th - 14th February, to show you our beautiful country. The 4 night/5 day holiday will be R2300.00 (approximately 230 Euro/US$) per person sharing (a supplement will apply to single rooms). The price will include travel, accommodation, breakfast and dinner. A special safari and visit to the crocodile farm etc. will be included. Registration Deadline
All participating countries are kindly requested to send their entries within and not later than 08 January 2003. An urgent indication of your participation and intention to go to Sun City will be appreciated. It is important to book accommodation as soon as possible.
