Sestriere is a famous winter ski resort
located in the northwest corner of Italy,
about 100 kilometers from Torino, near
the French/Italian border.
There are many ski slopes in this area, the largest being the
Banchetta, Fraiteve, Sises, and Rio Nero.
Sestriere has hosted many
international skiing competitions
including the 1967 Skiing World Cup and the
downhill and slalom skiing events at the 2006
Winter Olympics. There are four villages
in this area, including Sestriere Colle,
Sestrere Borgata, Champlas du Col,amd Champlas Janvier.
