Meetings of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will start on 3 July in Singapore, first with the IOC Executive Board on 3 and 4 July, followed by the 117th IOC Session from 6 to 9 July.

On 6 July, IOC members will elect the host city of the Games of the XXX Olympiad in 2012 from among the five Candidate Cities: Paris (FRA), New York (USA), Moscow (RUS), London (GBR) and Madrid (ESP)1.  On 7, 8 and 9 July, the Session will take decisions on key policy issues and areas under its authority.

All meetings and media facilities will be located in the Raffles City Convention Centre (RCCC) - (see details below).

To facilitate smooth immigration and customs clearance upon arrival at Singapore Changi Airport, all accredited media are encouraged to mention that they are covering the 117th IOC Session. Members of the media encountering any difficulty can call the 117th IOC Session Welcome Desks at Tel: 6542 5517 (Terminal 1) and 6542 5527 (Terminal 2) respectively between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.

The Accreditation Desk will be open from 27 June and will operate from 07:30 to 22:00 until 9 July, except on 4 July (to midnight) and 5 and 6 July (24-hour service).

Members of the media who have requested an accreditation and received confirmation from the IOC are invited to collect their accreditation cards as early as possible. These will be distributed only upon presentation of a valid passport and a press card.

Members of the media who have not requested an accreditation in advance will be asked to fill out their accreditation application on www.olympic.org at the Accreditation Desk. A two-hour waiting time should be expected before the cards can be issued. Please note that this service is only available from 1 July onwards.

The MPC will be open from 3 to 9 July, from 07:30 to 22:00 with a 24-hour service on 5 and 6 July.

Facilities will include:

-          190 workstations

-          160 modem connections (with phone lines)  

-          5 ADSL lines dedicated to the written press

-          15 ADSL lines dedicated to photographers

-          15 ISDN lines dedicated to radio media representatives and booked in advance

All workstations, except those with ISDN lines (which have been pre-booked), will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The IBC will be open from 3 to 9 July, from 07:30 to 22:00 (unless other agreed upon), with a 24-hour service on 5 and 6 July.

The exhibition will be launched in the presence of IOC President Jacques Rogge and a photo opportunity will be organised. Interested media are invited to register at the temporary Media Registration Desk located on the 2nd Floor next to the Accreditation Desk, from 5 p.m. on 1 July.

A brief photo opportunity will be organised each morning for photographers and cameramen wishing to get some shots inside the meeting room. The IOC Communications Department may need to limit the number if interest is very high. Members of the media who are interested are invited to gather at the North Atrium 15 minutes before the start of the proceedings.

IOC members will meet the President of Singapore on the afternoon of 5 July.  As access to the meeting is restricted, a selection of high-resolution pictures will be made available on the IOC website for the media to download.  Please visit “Photo Gallery” at www.olympic.org/117session.

A limited number of photographers and cameramen, to be determined by the IOC, will be allowed to film in the Theatre Hall. Media who are interested are invited to contact the booking desk of the Raffles City Convention Centre on the 4th Floor.

Fifty invitations for written press will be distributed by the IOC Communications Department on 5 July at the MPC.

An IOC briefing will be organised on 5 July at 11:00 in the VIP Lounge to go through all access procedures.

Please note that on 6 July all proceedings can be followed by closed circuit TV throughout the Raffles City Convention Centre and that a feed is available for broadcast from the IBC.

Special cards will be allocated to a limited number of photographers and cameramen wishing to film the presentations of the Candidate Cities at the rear of the Session room. Priority will be given to media from the countries of the five Candidate Cities. A booking system will be put in place to allow members of the media to register their request. The booking desk will be operational on 5 July and will be located on the 4th Floor.

The same booking system will be used to allocate special cards for filming (at the rear and front of the Session room) during the Announcement Ceremony.
