Fitness Inline Training Program
A New IISA Course for Fitness Professionals
In February of 2003 the International Inline Skating
Association introduced a new training course called the
Fitness Inline Training Program (FIT).
What is the Purpose of the FIT?
The IISA Fitness Inline Training Program was designed to give fitness and inline
industry professionals the guidance and tools they
need to (1) train the average recreational skater
to complete a full 40k marathon and (2) organize a
marathon training program in their community.
Who Can Participate?
skate patrol volunteers, fitness professionals,
and experienced marathon skaters are invited to
take the course.
What is Included in the FIT Course?
Instruction: The FIT Program Model
Skating Skills Assessment and Review
Field Instruction and Peer Training
Examinations: Written and Practical
Workshop: Marketing and Promotion
Liability Insurance (additional fee)
Participants in the FIT course must have one of the following:
(a) an IISA level 1 instructor certification,
(b) an IISA-approved fitness industry certification, or
(c) experience skating the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles.
Participants must have ICP Level II skating skills.
Participants must have a current CPR certification.
Course Date and Location:
The first IISA Fitness Inline Training
course will be held on March 28 and 29 in
prior to the Inaugural Walt Disney World Marathon.
