USA Roller Sports Director Resigns

Marciani Resigns as Executive Director of USA Roller Sports.
Richard Hawkins to Assume Responsibilities until Further Notification
LINCOLN, Neb. - The USA Roller Sports (USARS) Board of Directors has accepted
the resignation of Executive Director, Louis Marciani. Marciani has left USARS to
pursue other opportunities. His departure was effective on Monday, June 30, 2003.
In his time as Executive Director, Marciani coordinated the re-branding phase
of the organization and provided USARS new opportunities in sponsorships and
competition. Marciani came to USARS in 2000 with a doctorate in education and
an extensive background in sports management and administration.
Richard Hawkins, National Speed Skating Director, will be assuming the
responsibilities of Assistant Executive Director until further notification. Hawkins
has been involved with USARS for 33 years and has served in all realms of
roller sports.
USA Roller Sports is recognized by the Federation Internationale de Roller Sports
(FIRS) and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) as the National Governing
Body for Competitive Roller Sports in the United States. For more information,
