History of the Segway Scooter

Who Invented the Segway Scooter?
The Segway Human Transporter was invented by entrepreneur Dean Kamen.

When Was the Segway Invented
The existence of the Segway scooter was officially revealed to the public in December of 2001.

The First Segway Model
The first Segway Human Tranporter weighed 80 pounds, had a 250-pound passenger limit, and 5 gyroscopes and two tilt sensors working together to balance the device.

The Segway Company
Inventor Dean Kamen's company Segway LLC and it islocated in Bedford, New Hampshire in the United States. The company received funding from a number of individual buyers.

Segway Code Names
At different times the Segway was known as "Ginger" and "IT".
