The lucky winner selected by Britta was... Adriaan Johannes Haasbroek of South Africa!!! Britta Vantournhout of Belgium 2003 Speed Worlds Adriaan Haasbroek of South Africa 2002 Speed Worlds The Skating Bachelorette Contest Bont Skates of Australia held a "Skating Bachelorette" contest for a few weeks in early 2004, during which time Britta directed questions to a group of handsome and successful speed skating bachelors from many different countries around the world. Britta's questions and the bachelors' responses were published on the Bont Web site for the entire world to see. I have to congratulate Britta and all of the contestants for having the self-confidence and sense of fun that allowed them to participate in this kind of special event. Britta had a very difficult decision to make, but on June 8, 2004 she selected Adriaan Johannes Haasbroek of South Africa as the bachelor who will be flown to Belgium for a date with Britta.
