Dateline: 11/15/99
After being injured in 1999, Heather Gunnin and Jay Etheredge are
working hard, having fun and preparing for the year 2000.
Heather Gunnin
Beautiful Heather Gunnin started 1999 in great form,
juggling two careers quite successfully. She was
training and competing as a member of
Team Hyper, while trying to live
up to her reputation as the "Bad Girl"
of the
New York Enforcers, one of the teams
in the new Roller Derby incarnation,
Roller Jam.
Both careers were put on hold temporarily
when she injured her leg while training
in Southern California last May. Heather is training again,
and expects to be back to R&R (Racing and RollerJamming) very soon!

Jay Etheredge
Jay Etheredge was
having a hot skating season when he injured his leg racing for
Team Hyper
at Superweek
in July. Jay is recovering as quickly as can be expected, but while
he is starting to ride his bicycle, he occasionally finds it
difficult to do something as simple as walking.
Jay has been very active during his time off from racing.
He is coaching speed practice three times a week,
and is starting to connect again with his former private
students. He is preparing to conduct speed clinics in
early 2000, and has recently established a speed skating
club for Southern California.
For more information about all of his activities, see
Jay's Web site
