INLINE to ICE TRANSITION CAMP
December 6-7, 2003
Olympic Oval, Lake Placid, New York USA
KC Boutiette, Derek Parra, Jennifer Rodriguez, Joey Cheek, and now Chad Hedrick!
All of these inline athletes have made a successful transition to ice speed skating
because of the high degree of preparation that training on inlines provides.
Now is your chance to gain valuable experience on ice with the assistance of
highly skilled ice AND inline coaches. And while this camp is geared primarily
for inliners, anyone interested in technical improvement on the ice is welcome
to register.
What to Expect at the Camp
Participants will be exposed to a series of core exercises for developing the
building blocks of efficient ice speed skating technique.
Three instructors will provide
explanations, demonstrations, practice techniques,
and feedback.
Coaching Staff
PAT KELLY: former Canadian National and Olympic team long track skater
and coach of the Adirondack Speed Skating Club.
BARRY PUBLOW: Canadian Inline World Team Coach, Breakawayskate workshop
instructor, FaSST writer, and author of Speed on Skates
AARON ARNDT: 2003 Canadian Inline Champion, Breakawayskate workshop
instructor and coach of the Toronto Inline Skate Club
Registration
The camp registration fee is $150 USD and it includes: 2 nights accommodation at
Lyseck’s Hillcrest Inn, 3 meals a day, on and off-ice instruction, entry
to the oval for all ice sessions, and a
chance to win a Bont Spec-A long track clap blade.
The deadline for registration is Friday, November 21.
Space is limited to the first 40 paid skaters who register,
and the workshop is expected to fill up quickly, so early
registration is recommended.
