One of the events at the 9th annual Winter X Games in
Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado January 29 through
February 1, 2005 is a "Snowboard SuperPipe" competition.

ESPN Sport Description
The Snowboard SuperPipe competition is arguably one of the
most exciting competitions in the world. Teh 515 foot long
SuperPipe brings together the talents of former Olympians,
world champions and hot new riders, all pushing the boundaries
of snowboarding with their aerial antics and prowess in the pipe.
Each of the 20 competitors will take two runs in the preliminaries
to determine who will compete for gold. The top 10 in the
preliminaries qualify for the finals. In the men's final, each
competitor will take three runs, while the women will take two
runs. Based on their bst score, the competitor with the top run
in the finals takes home the gold.
