1996 - Fabiola da Silva Backflip
At the 1996 X Games, Fabiola da Silva of Brazil won
a gold medal for a run that included the first ever
backflip by a female inline skater.
1996 - Adventure Race to the Finish
After 600 miles of competing through New England
in the Eastern United States, Team Kobeer and Team
Eco-Internet race to a memorable neck and neck finish
in the Extreme Adventure Racing competition of the
1996 X Games.
1998 - Four Way Snowboard Tie
At X Games V snowboarder Ben Hinkley competes in a
jump-off with Kevin Jones Jason Borgstede, and Jim
Rippey in Snowboard Big Air to break a 4 way tie in
the finals. Kevin Jones took home the gold.
1999 - Tony Hawk Lands 900 Spin
After attempting the trick for years Tony Hawk landed
the first ever 900 spin on a skateboard (2.5 rotations)
just after regulation time in the skateboard vert
competition at the 1999 X Games in San Francisco.
1999 - Travis Pastrana Near Perfect Run
At age 15, Travis Pastrana scored a nearly perfect
first run - 99.0 - in the first ever Moto X freestyle
competition at the 199 X Games in San Francisco,
California.
2000 - Dave Mirra Double Backflip
In a gold medal run at X Games VI Dave Mirra sticks
the first ever double backflip in stunt bike park.
2001 Taig Khris Double Backflip

Indy to a fakie-to-fakie 540 then to a darkside to
fakie and more, without repeating a single trick.
2002 - Mike Metzger Back-to-Back Flips
The year of the backflip is taken even further at
X Games VIII when Mike Metzger lands the first ever
back-to-back backflips in the Moto X freestyle
competition at the 2002 X Games in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania.
2002 Mat Hoffman No-Hands 900 Spin
Mat Hoffman ("The Condor") lands a never before
completed no-handed 900 spin in the bike stunt
vert competition a the 2002 X Games in Philadelphia,
