DESCRIPTION: Outdoor inline skating and roller skating track first opened in 2010 that was named after artistic and hockey roller skater and president of the Guayas Sports Federation Skating Committee, Carlos Merino Henriquez. Local skaters previously trained daily at the Pancho Jiménez complex north of Guayaquil. The skating rink was funded using financing from the Guayas Sports Federation (FedeGuayas). The complex has two tracks one for road and one for speed plus a field in the center for practicing sports such as hockey .

Fedeguayas Skating Rink
Guayaquil (Guayas) .- Six skaters from the High Performance Plan of the Ministry of Sports will compete in the II Interclubes National Ranking to be held at the Fedeguayas skating rink . The event will be attended by about 200 athletes from Pichincha, Azuay, Imbabura, Manabí, Loja, El Oro, Carchi, Riobamba and Sucumbíos, according to information provided by Marisol Castro, president of the Ecuadorian Federation of Hockey and Skate (FEHP). The leader reported that the skaters who qualified for the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games will not be in the national team: Jorge Bolaños and Ingrid Factos. "They are in Las Vegas (USA) preparing and competing in racing marathons," he reported. Those who will be are: - Gabriela Vargas, from the Pichincha Raptors Club; - Renato Campana, from the Guayaco Skating Club; - Carlos Matute, Pablo Matute, Emma Claré and Adrián Álvarez, from the Ecuador Skating High Performance Club
The competition will serve as preparation for the South American in Colombia in May of this year and will also award points for the national ranking with a view to the world championship in China in November.
The competition schedule is as follows: Friday and Saturday, from 08:00 to 18:00; and Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The speed skaters qualified for Toronto 2015 are:
- Jorge Bolaños,
- Ingrid Factos
- Gabriela Vargas; while in figure skating
- María Eduarda Fuentes
