"Figure skating is not a popular sport in Egypt and Egyptians were not aware it even existed in their country.
Last month, a group of figure skaters started using social media to promote the indoor sport.
The team, which is called Figure Skating Egypt, was founded in 2012.
Iissue: The standard ice rink (size) is 1,200 square meters,
while the Olympics one is 1,600 square meters.
Unfortunately, there is no standard ice rinks in Egypt,
for instance the rink we are using now is about
350 square meters, not even a quarter of the
standard ice rink which is 1,200 square meters."

"In July 2019, the first-ever national figure skating
championship was held in Sun City Mall, where Egyptian
and foreign skaters competed under the watchful eyes
of the judges. Way back in 2014, we were introduced
to 14-year-old Egyptian-Russian skater,
Amira Abdul Moati, who was training for the
2018 Olympics Winter Games in Korea.
Coach Tereza Dos Santos Costa is giving lessons at
Genena Mall on Saturday, the 11th of January,
from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM to experienced skaters,
and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM to beginner kids,
but both classes require prior knowledge.
If you’re a complete first-timer, you can
catch her class from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM."

National Figure Skating Championship
at Sun City mall. During multiple
interviews, the figure skaters, instructors
and founders of Ice Skate Egypt stated that
Egyptians need to invest in the sport,
in hopes of having a strong team that
could qualify for the Olympics.
The Ice Skate Egypt team have their first ever
figure skating show scheduled for July 12.
This is exceptional news for Egyptian parents
whose children love the sport yet settle for
roller blades instead. If you love ballerinas,

"Egypt held its first ever national figure skating competition
in Cairo on Saturday at Sun city Mall in Heliopolis, with both
Egyptian and foreign figure skaters in the tournament.
Ice Skate Egypt (ISE) was founded in December 2017, which
is the governing body regulating and promoting the sport
of figure skating in Egypt.
ISE held skating shows in Egypt before with great attendance,
the first one was in July 2018 at Sun City Mall in front
of 600 attendees, choreographed by Coach Monica Hale.
The second one was by the group Little Stars on Ice in
December 2018 in Soho Square Sharm El-Sheikh, titled
‘The World in My Eyes’ choreographed by Coach Nina Ulanova,
former Junior Ice Dance World Champion."
